Jack Beecher appointed as Yale’s first veterans liaison

Jack Beecher, a lead administrator at the Department of Human Resources, has assumed a new part-time role as veteran liaison. 

Beecher will serve as Yale’s central point of contact in supporting faculty, students, staff, and alumni who are military veterans. He will assist veterans in accessing services and resources both within and external to Yale. Beecher will work with various constituencies to develop and coordinate processes to enhance veterans’ experiences at the university. He will report to Donna Cable, associate vice president for human resources.

Beecher joined Yale in 1988 and has held several positions including administrator of the Child Study Center and the Department of Anesthesiology, director of Oracle implementation at the School of Medicine and, most recently, senior director of professional schools and academic support. He holds a B.S. in financial management and organizational development from Quinnipiac University and earned his M.P.H. at Yale. Beecher is a veteran of the United States Air Force who served in Vietnam.
