Yale graduate students hosted a STEM Profession Career Fair for local high school students on April 11 at Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven.

The event brought together 30 professionals in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and approximately 250 high school students from Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School, Hill Regional Career High School, and Wilbur Cross High School.

The students learned about the training and education required for various STEM career paths and the benefits of pursuing careers in STEM.

Yale graduate students (from left) Samantha Ziegler, Kirsten Knecht and Krysten Thomas helped organize the event.

The presenters included professionals from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the University of Connecticut, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Yale University, and other organizations in the fields of healthcare, computer science, research, government, and business.
