Yale sociologists featured at global symposium in Paris

Elijah Anderson and Immanuel Wallerstein addressed the “Think Global | Thinking Globally” symposium held in Paris on May 15-17.

Anderson, the William K. Lanman Jr. Professor of Sociology, discussed “The Cosmopolitan Canopy: Race and Civility in Everyday Life.” Wallerstein, senior research scientist in sociology, spoke on “Global Knowledge: Intellectual Barriers, Organizational and Cultural.”

According to the organizers, the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’homme, the symposium’s goals were to discuss “the future direction of social sciences and humanities.”
