Yale School of Medicine investigators honored for excellence in academic laboratory medicine

Six Yale School of Medicine investigators received the Paul E. Strandjord Young Investigator Award from the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists (ACLPS) at the academy’s 52nd annual meeting, which was hosted at Yale June 15-17.

Burak Bahar, Thomas Durant, David Gibb, Shaun Gruenbaum, David Madrid, and Yan Zheng were recognized for their medical research in their respective disciplines and invited to present their research papers at the 2017 ACLPS meeting. The Paul E. Strandjord Young Investigator Award intends to encourage these young investigators to consider a career in academic laboratory medicine. The award supports the core mission of the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists, which is to advance teaching and scholarship in laboratory medicine.
