It is a now-familiar summer sight: White tents are lined up outside Commons in Beinecke Plaza, and bushel baskets filled with lettuce, arugula, kale, pears, apples, eggplant and more are displayed underneath them for purchase at reasonable prices (a head of romaine lettuce, a bunch of arugula, spinach, or kale sells for $1.) Now in its fifth year, Yale Dining’s UnCommon Market features produce from farms and wholesalers in the tri-state area along with cookies and pies from the Yale Bakery. It is open on Fridays from noon to 1:30 p.m. for Yale staff, faculty, and students.
