Cell biologists Megan King and Patrick Lusk have been awarded Yale’s 2020 Postdoctoral Mentoring Prize by the Office of the Provost.

Lusk and King are co-directors of the LusKing lab, which studies nuclear structure, dynamics, and integrity with an emphasis on providing a rich training environment for cross-disciplinary research.

The two were selected after a review of nominations from postdoctoral fellows from across campus.

The postdoctoral years are a crucial stage in the career trajectories of young scholars, and good mentoring can make the difference between success and failure,” wrote University Provost Scott Strobel in a letter to the recipients. “You have created a distinguished mentoring program in which your postdocs experience mentoring as integral to your academic mission.”

The two will receive $1,000 and a commemorative plaque.
