Three appointed to endowed chairs
Dr. Susan Baserga, Eli Fenichel, and Regina Kunzel were appointed to endowed professorships.
Baserga, named as the William H. Fleming, M.D. Professor of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, studies fundamental aspects of ribosome biogenesis, the nucleolus, human diseases of making ribosomes (ribosomopathies), and the impact of ribosome biogenesis on cell growth, cell division and cancer. Fenichel, appointed as the Knobloch Family Professor of Natural Resource Economics, studies the intertemporal allocation, valuation, and management of natural assets and liabilities by bridging natural science, dynamical systems, and economics. Read Fenichel’s announcement.
Kunzel, currently of Princeton University, was designated as the Larned Professor of History and of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is an historian of gender and sexuality in the 20th-century United States. Read Kunzel’s announcement.
