The Yale Collection of Musical Instruments reopened Feb. 25 after renovations with a new exhibition, “Resounding Brass.” The rare instruments on display trace centuries of innovations in the evolution of brasswinds — from conch shells and ram horns to finely crafted brass instruments  — created by renowned makers and played by skilled performers. The diverse instruments are sourced from various Yale museums, including the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History and Yale University Art Gallery, and from private collections.

The Collection’s concert series resumes April 1. The museum’s holding of keyboard instruments is also accessible to the public.
