Professor Kristaps Keggi recalls his service as a field doctor in Vietnam

Keggi, a professor emeritus at Yale School of Medicine and pioneering hip surgeon, served in the Army’s 173rd Airborne Brigade from 1965 to 1966.

An alumnus of Yale College and the Yale School of Medicine (YSM), Dr. Kristaps Keggi currently serves as a professor emeritus and senior research scientist of orthopaedics and rehabilitation at YSM. Keggi was in Vietnam from 1965 to 1966, where he worked as an orthopaedic surgeon in a mobile surgical hospital in the Army’s 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.
