Fashion journalism is topic of talk by Vogue Runway director
Nicole Phelps, fashion journalist and director of Vogue Runway, will discuss fashion journalism on Friday, Nov. 8. The talk will be held at 4 p.m. in Rm. 116 of William L. Harkness Hall, 100 Wall St. Phelps’ talk, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the Y Fashion House, The Politic, and the Poynter Fellowship in Journalism.
Before joining Vogue Runway, Phelps spent 10 years working for Style.com, where she reviewed runway shows in New York, Milan, and Paris. She has also worked for Elle, where she served as fashion news editor, Women’s Wear Daily, and W Magazine. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University.
The Poynter Fellowship in Journalism was established by Nelson Poynter, who received his master’s degree in 1927 from Yale. The fellowship brings to campus distinguished reporters, editors and others who have made important contributions to the media. Among recent Poynter fellows are Sarah Jaffe, Rosanne Cash, and Sonia Fritz
