When President Peter Salovey announced the Yale Africa Initiative (YAI) during his inaugural address in 2013, he promised to foster new directions in research on Africa, identify new partnerships, and strengthen recruitment efforts — all while emphasizing teaching and learning.
Since those formative days, Yale University has made great strides in growing and effectively delivering on that promise.
