Two faculty members named as John C. Malone Professors

Hui Cao and Holly Rushmeier were appointed to John C. Malone Professorships.

Cao, named as the John C. Malone Professor of Applied Physics and of Physics, focuses her research on mesoscopic physics and nanophotonics. Read Cao’s announcement.

Rushmeier, appointed as the John C. Malone Professor of Computer Science, focuses her research on shape and appearance capture, applications of perception in computer graphics, modeling material appearance and developing computational tools for cultural heritage. Read Rushmeier’s announcement.

The professorships are among 10 that were established through the generosity of John C. Malone ’63E. Malone is renowned for his pioneering role in communications media and his philanthropy towards education.
