Bretano String Quartet to perform program of ‘Lamentations’

The Brentano String Quartet, Yale School of Music’s ensemble-in-residence, will perform its “Lamentations” program on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Morse Recital Hall, 470 College St. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m.

Consisting of pieces by Haydn, Shostakovich, Gesualdo, Elliot Carter, and Bartók, the program is meant to celebrate the “art of cathartic expression in songs of lamentation.”

Tickets are available starting at $13 for students at the Yale School of Music website.
