Yale School of Drama will present “Seven Spots on the Sun” by Martín Zimmerman Dec. 13–18 at the Yale Repertory Theatre, 1120 Chapel St. Opening night is Friday, Dec. 14.

In the aftermath of a deadly civil war, a mysterious plague is killing the children of San Isidro. Moises, the village doctor, whose wife was brutally murdered by enemy soldiers, has shut himself away. Coaxed back to his practice by the desperate townspeople, Moises discovers he has extraordinary healing powers. But can he help those who destroyed his world? “Seven Spots on the Sun,” according to the organizers, incorporates magic, realism, myth, and history. These converge in a passionate examination of what it costs to heal the wounds of war.

The play features scenic design by Lily Guerin, costume design by April Hickman, lighting design by Evan Anderson, sound design and composition by Andrew Rovner, projection and video design by Christopher Evans, dramaturgy by Evan Hill, technical direction by Jenna Heo, and stage management by Zachry J. Bailey.
