Dr. Lauren Ferrante wins conference fellowship for intensive care research

Dr. Lauren Ferrante, assistant professor of medicine (pulmonary) at the Yale School of Medicine, has won a 2018 Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS) Global Rising Star fellowship.

The fellowship sponsors “innovative and productive early to mid-career clinician/scientists to disseminate their findings to an international audience” at the ANZICS/Australian College of Critical Care Nurses annual scientific meeting in Adelaide, South Australia on Oct. 11-13. Ferrante will present a lecture on “Critical Illness, Disability & Vulnerability.”

At the Yale School of Medicine, Ferrante’s research focuses on understanding and improving the functional outcomes of older ICU patients. Her research dovetails with the core mission of ANZICS, which is considered “the leading advocate on all intensive care related matters.”
