Yale Dance Theater and Paul Taylor Dance Company revive ‘Party Mix’

Artists from the troupe Taylor 2 will join Yale dancers in a showing of Paul Taylor’s “Party Mix” and other dances by the choreographer on Saturday, April 14.

For its 2018 spring project, the Yale Dance Theater (YDT) has been working with guest artists from the Paul Taylor’s Dance Company on a reconstruction of Taylor’s 1963 dance “Party Mix,” which has not been seen in four decades.

At the rehearsal pictured here, YDT dancers are led by Linda Kent, a principal dancer with the Paul Taylor Dance Company from 1975 to 1989. Dancers from Taylor 2 will join YTD dancers in a public showing of “Party Mix” and other dances by the choreographer on Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m. and again at 3 p.m. at the Crescent Underground Theater, located in the basement between Morse and Ezra Stiles colleges. The event is free, but reservations are required.
