Pulitzer Prize-winner Wesley Morris to speak about work as a cultural critic

Wesley Morris will discuss his work on Tuesday, April 10 at a Benjamin Franklin College tea during his visit as a Poynter Fellow in Journalism.

Wesley Morris, Pulitzer prize-winning cultural critic, will discuss his work on Tuesday, April 10 at a Benjamin Franklin College tea during his visit as a Poynter Fellow in Journalism.

The event, titled “Black Panther, #MeToo and being a cultural critic,” will take place at 5 p.m. at the college, 90 Prospect St.

Morris is a critic-at-large for The New York Times and co-hosts his own cultural discussion podcast, “Still Processing.” Prior to his position at The New York Times, Morris wrote for ESPN’s website Grantland as a Sportstorialist columnist. He also worked as a film critic for The Boston Globe, where he received a Pulitzer Prize for Criticism. 

The Poynter Fellowship in Journalism was established by Nelson Poynter, who received his master’s degree in 1927 from Yale. The fellowship brings to campus distinguished reporters, editors and others who have made important contributions to the media. Among recent Poynter fellows are Elizabeth Kolbert, Dan Diamond, and Susan Glasser.
