Dr. Susan Baserga was one of 50 state women honored at the 14th annual Connecticut Technology Council Women of Innovation® Awards dinner March 28.
Baserga, professor of molecular biophysics and biochemistry, genetics and therapeutic radiology, was one of two winners of the Research Innovation and Leadership category. She was recognized for her investigation of the molecular basis for the formation of ribosomes, the cell’s protein-making machinery — and origins of human diseases known as ribosomopathies.
Dr. Christine Finck of the University of Connecticut Health Center was co-winner of the award.
