In conjunction with the release of the 2018 EPI, which was released on Jan. 23, Salovey spoke with Dan Esty (Hillhouse Professor of Environmental Law and Policy, School of Forestry & Environmental Studies and Clinical Professor of Environmental Law & Policy, Yale Law School) about the report's findings.

The president was also one of the members of the Global University Leaders Forum (GULF)  who took part in a discussion about the economic impact of their universities’ partnerships with businesses.

He also sat down with Rob Cox of Reuters TV to discuss the role of universities in promoting science-based research, and with Andy Serwer, Yahoo Finance editor-in-chief, to discuss the recently passed bill that would tax the endowment of universities such as Yale.
