The Shops at Yale raises $2,175 to benefit New Haven Animal Shelter

The Shops at Yale announced that the inaugural Appetizer & Dessert Crawl, which took place on Aug. 20, generated $2,175 for the Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter.

The non-profit organization provides essential support services for the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter, such as shelter, adoption, events, and socialization.



The event was a three-hour, self-guided food tour that showcased downtown New Haven’s diverse culinary offerings, while raising money for the community service. Guests enjoyed appetizer and dessert samples provided by many restaurants and eateries at The Shops at Yale, including Claire’s Corner Copia, Harvest Wine Bar & Restaurant, and  Midpoint Istanbul, among others. The event also included a raffle, face painting, a magician, live jazz, and a pet adoption which led to several dogs and cats finding new homes.

The Shops at Yale is made up of the Chapel Street Historic and Broadway districts in New Haven. It includes a mix of retailers and restaurants, such as Apple, GANT, Derek Simpson Goldsmith, Union League Café, Queen Zuri Restaurant, Shake Shack, and Yurway Boutique.
