Learn from business leaders via SOM livestreams, webinar

Even if you can’t make it to campus, you can watch and listen as business leaders share their expertise online at three events sponsored by the Yale School of Management (SOM) this month.

Mark Fields, former CEO of the Ford Motor Company, will speak at the SOM Leaders Forum on “Driving into the Future with No Road Maps: Smart Mobility and Smart Management,” to be held 4:15–5:15 p.m. ET on Thursday, Oct. 12. He will be joined by Jeff Sonnenfeld, senior associate dean for leadership studies and the Lester Crown Professor in the Practice of Management. Watch via livestream.

SOM will host a conference titled “The FinTech Transformation: Disruptive Financial Technologies and What They Mean to Society” on Friday, Oct. 13. The event, which will take place 9 a.m.–6 p.m. ET, will convene thought leaders in finance, technology, and academia to explore FinTech’s potential for further reshaping our world. The conference is sponsored by the International Center for Finance at SOM. Watch via livestream.

A webinar titled “Can Technology Make Us Happy?” will be led by Amy Blankson ’06 on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Blankson is cofounder of GoodThink, a company devoted to translating the gap between academic research and the real world, and author of “The Future of Happiness: 5 Modern Strategies for Balancing Productivity and Well-Being in the Digital Era.” The live online event will begin at noon ET.
