Yale community invited to open houses at new residential colleges

The Yale community has an opportunity to see what's been hidden behind all the tarps and scaffolding during the past few years.

Members of the campus community can get a sneak peek at Yale’s newest residential colleges during open houses 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 17 and 18.

The invitation to the events was sent to the community on Aug. 14 by Yale College Dean Marvin Chun on behalf of himself, President Peter Salovey, and the new heads of Benjamin Franklin and Pauli Murray colleges: Professors Charles Bailyn and Tina Lu, respectively.

Visitors can enter through the colleges' main gates, both of which are accessible from Prospect Walk, which runs between the colleges. Benjamin Franklin College is located at 90 Prospect St.; Pauli Murray College is at 130 Prospect St.

All of the colleges’ public spaces — common rooms, courtyards, dining halls, and libraries — will be open for self-guided tours.
