The 13th annual Yale European Cinema Conference — two days of panel discussions and films from Scotland, Norway, France, Poland, East Germany, and Italy, and more. Free. See the play Angels in America, Part 1: Millennium Approaches, a senior project in directing for Michaela Johnson and in acting for Eleanor Slota. According to the producers, Tony Kushner’s “sweeping, haunting epic is widely considered one of the most important theatrical works in decades.” Free (reservations required). Bring the family to this month’s Science Saturdays Program: Watching Atoms Move.  Professor Judy Cha (materials science engineering) will talk about the tools she uses to watch atoms move and to manipulate them into structures one atom at a time. Science Saturdays is a lecture series that brings the excitement of research and the passion of scientists to families. Free. Join the Yale Film Study Center, CPTV, Children’s Community Programs of CT, and Urban Improvement Corps for an Indie Lens Pop-Up — a special advance screening of The Bad Kids. The producers note this “coming-of-age story shows extraordinary educators and talented students combatting the crippling effects of poverty in the lives of these so-called ‘bad kids.’” The film won the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival.
