LGBTQ Resources Office: Don’t grieve alone

In the wake of the tragic events in Orlando this past weekend, the Office of LGBTQ reminds community members that you are not alone in your grief, and there are a number of resources available to you. You can also find information about events taking place tonight (Monday).

In the wake of the tragic events in Orlando this past weekend, the Office of LGBTQ reminds community members that you are not alone in your grief, and there are a number of resources available to you.

Office hours

The office will be open 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday of this week. You are invited to drop by if you would like to talk or just be with others, or you can call the office at 203-432-0309.

Counseling

Yale Mental Health and Counseling (yalehealth.yale.edu/mentalhealth) is available Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. at 203-432-0290 and after hours via Acute Care at 203-432-0123.

Events today (Monday)

At 4 p.m. today, LGBTQ+ Youth Kickback will host a gathering, “Speak Out for Safety, Rally for Hope,” at the Amistad Memorial, 165 Church St, on the Green. You can find more details at the facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1752131305009537/.

At 6 p.m. today, there will be an LGBTQ-led interfaith vigil for the victims of the mass shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, immediately after the Speak Out for Safety Rally, at the United Church on the Green, 270 Temple St. You can find more details at the facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/584502965061714/.
