On May 25, 2016, Professor Nicholas Christakis announced to the Silliman College community that he will step down from his role as head of college to return full-time to his research and teaching at Yale as the Sol Goldman Family Professor of Social and Natural Science, with appointments in the Departments of Sociology, Biomedical Engineering, and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and in the School of Medicine. He will also continue in his role as the director of the Human Nature Lab and co-director of the Yale Institute for Network Science.

Nicholas and Erika Christakis are deeply valued members of the university community. We thank them for their extraordinary service to Yale College and look forward to Professor Christakis’s ongoing contributions as an exceptional scholar and educator.
