There may be champions on the playing field on Saturday, Nov. 7 when the Yale Bulldogs meet the Brown Bears in the Yale Bowl, but there will definitely be heroes in the stands.

During “Heroes Day at Yale Bowl” the Yale Veterans Association — as part of a partnership with the West Haven VA — will bring a group of blind veterans to the football game, where they will be seated in a reserved section along with their volunteer escorts, who will include Navy ROTC shipmen and Air Force ROTC cadets. The day will also feature a dinner for the veterans and volunteers.

In addition, there will be $5 general admission tickets for active duty military members, reservists, veterans, and first responders. Use the promo code Hero 15 at yalebulldogs.com.

Fans are encouraged to stop by the  Yale Veterans Association tent in the Hospitality Village, where there will be an obstacle course as well as military and civil service vehicles to explore.

Fans are also asked to bring an unwrapped toy to support the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots drive.

Kickoff for the game is 12:30 p.m. For more information about the Yale Veterans Association, visit yaleveterans.org. For more information or to purchase tickets for the football game, visit yalebulldogs.com.
