The highlights of the festival’s closing weekend include two free concerts on the New Haven Green: Lucinda Williams on Friday and Plena Libre on Saturday.

Lucinda Williams

7 p.m., Friday, June 26
New Haven Green: First Niagara Stage

The concert will feature William’s delta-infused blend of rock and folk, described as “conjuring up the spirit of the classic 1070s country music.” She will perform selections from her latest project, “Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone,” her first release on her own label. The Carrie Ashton Band will open the evening at 6 p.m. The band plays original music that is a blend of rock, modern country and acoustic.

Plena Libre

7 p.m., Saturday, June 27
New Haven Green: First Niagara Stage
Free

The final event of the festival is a concert by Plena Libre, a 12-piece Grammy-winning ensemble that blends the African-based plena and bomba pulse of Puerto Rican music and sounds from across the Caribbean music and the Latin World, while adding complex layers of brass, string and hard-hitting hand percussion. New Haven’s own Carlos Santiago y Su Momento Musical opens the night at 6 p.m. with salsa, merengue, and bachata.
