Odyssey 2014: Driving change to alternative fuel vehicles
Yale University in partnership with Connecticut Clean Cities Coalitions (CCCC) will celebrate the use of alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles during its National Alternative Fuel Vehicle Day Odyssey event on Monday, Oct. 6, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the West Campus Conference Center, 100 West Campus Dr., Orange, Connecticut.
The Yale-CCCC event is one of many such programs being held concurrently across the United States. National AFV Day Odyssey was created in 2002 by the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium, a program of West Virginia University, and is held every two years.
“We are excited to partner with Yale for Odyssey 2014 as we continue to drive change across America,” said Lee Grannis, coordinator of the Greater New Haven Clean Cities Coalition. “With this event we will spread the message of embracing alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles, commemorate Odyssey’s Decade of Difference, and showcase vehicles that are used every day on Connecticut streets.
During this event, Connecticut residents will have the opportunity to visit Yale West Campus to see the alternative fuel and advance technology vehicles — such as plug-in electric vehicles, hybrid, natural gas, and propane cars and trucks — being used in Connecticut and the Northeast. Speakers will provide information about how to switch your fleet or any vehicle to natural gas, propane, or electric fuel; best practices for running an alternative fueled fleet; and ways to become more sustainable in your fleet.
National AFV Day Odyssey is coordinated by the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium in partnership with the national sponsors, Honda and the Propane Education & Research Council.
