Go behind the scenes on a Furniture Study Tour at the Yale University Art Gallery. See the gallery’s working library of American furniture and wooden objects, featuring more than 1,000 works from the 17th to the 21st century. Free. 1111 Chapel St. 12:30 p.m.

Saturday

Take a docent-led Introductory Tour of the permanent collection of the Yale Center for British Art. Free. 1080 Chapel St. 11 a.m.-noon.

Attend a Yale basketball game — watch Yale vs. Baruch. Payne Whitney Gymnasium, 70 Tower Pkwy. 2 p.m.

Sunday

Take part in a Family Program of Stories and Art. Yale students and gallery staff will relate folktales and myths to works of art in the collection. Free. Yale University Art Gallery. 1111 Chapel St. 1 p.m.

Books of Secrets: Alchemy, Medicine and Magic, an exhibit curated by students of Yale professor Paola Bertucci as part of her seminar “Spies, Secrets, and Science.” Free. Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Library, 333 Cedar St. Friday 8 a.m.-10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday 9:30 a.m. to midnight. Exhibit closes Jan. 17.

From Peru to Paree: A Cole Porter Jubilee, marking the 100th anniversary of Cole Porter’s graduation from Yale in 1913. Free. Sterling Memorial Library Memorabilia Room, 120 High St. Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:45 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-4:45 p.m., and Sunday noon-11:45 p.m. Exhibit closes Jan. 31.


 

Stage Designs by Ming Cho Lee, a retrospective highlighting the numerous award-winning productions of Ming Cho Lee, a 40-year faculty member at the Yale School of Drama and one of the most influential figures in American stage design.
