Friday

Get a sneak preview of Inside Llewyn Davis, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. The movie follows a week in the life of a young singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Free. Whitney Humanities Center auditorium, 53 Wall St. 8 p.m. (Seating begins at 7:30 pm. — first come, first seated. No laptops or other recording devices allowed, there may be checks of bags and backpacks.)

See Bound to Burn, a “movement and dance piece that explores the fragility of life and the resilience of the human spirit.” Yale Cabaret, 217 Park St. at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Saturday

Hear Wendell Berry, Poet, Philosopher, Farmer, a “pioneering and influential advocate for change, who has spent more than 50 years helping to shape the movements for agricultural and ecological sustainability.” Free (register in advance). Shubert Theater, 247 College St. 2:30 p.m.

Cheer on the Yale Men’s Basketball team as they take on New Hampshire. Payne Whitney Gym, 70 Tower Pkwy. 4:30 p.m.

Listen to Yale Camerata perform music of J.S. Bach, Haydn, Britten, Verdi, and Willocks; and world premieres by Kyr and Alexander. Marguerite L. Brooks will conduct the Dona Nobis Pacem Advent Concert. Free. Battell Chapel, College and Elm streets. 8 p.m.

Sunday

View art in new ways at a Family Program of Stories and Art, featuring folktales, myths, and stories from around the world that highlight unique objects in the Yale University Art Gallery collection. For children of all ages. Free. 1111 Chapel St. 1 p.m.

Sing along to the chorus sections of Handel’s Messiah at the Annual Messiah Sing-In with the Yale Symphony Orchestra and the Yale Glee Club. Scores will be available for purchase, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit New Haven’s homeless. Free (suggested donation $5). Battell Chapel, College and Elm streets. 2 p.m.
