Ask the museum director — live and on the web

Jock Reynolds, director of the Yale University Art Gallery, will take viewers behind the scenes of America’s oldest university art gallery during a live YouTube interview on Dec. 11.

Appearing on @YaleLive, Reynolds will discuss the first year in the gallery’s new life, which began last December with the conclusion of a decade-long renovation and expansion that inspired a New York Times reviewer to prompt readers to “start checking New Haven train times.”

Viewers may submit questions before and during the broadcast via Yale’s Facebook page, Twitter@Yale, and socialmedia@yale.edu. The program airs live on Yale’s YouTube channel at noon EST.

Reynolds has been director of the Yale University Art Gallery since 1998. An artist himself with works in major public and private collections, he oversaw the expansion of the gallery and its collection, which now includes more than 200,000 items, including classic works by Van Gogh, Duchamp,Rothko, and otherhousehold names in the world of art.
