Memorial service for John Hollander

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Nov. 16 for Yale poet and scholar John Hollander, who died on Aug. 17 at age 83.

The service will take place at 3 p.m. in Battell Chapel, corner of Elm and College streets. It will be followed by a reception in the Jonathan Edwards College master’s house, 70 High St. All are welcome.

Hollander was Sterling Professor Emeritus of English at Yale. His field of interest was poetry, particularly that of the early modern period. He was also a poet in his own right, authoring 17 books of verse.
