Activities both local and with an international theme will be featured during a giant block party taking place on Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Yale International Center and its surrounding area.

All are welcome to attend.

Some of the activities will take place in the International Center, 421 Temple St., while others will be held in the parking lot outside the center, including a climbing wall, bounce house, a visit by a fire truck, music, and food.

In addition, guests are invited to treats from neighborhood merchants and venues. These include a tofu sampler at the Yale-China Association; cupcake decorating at Katalina’s (12:30 p.m.); a clock-making project at the New Haven Museum (1 p.m.); a walking tour of the Whitney Avenue/Audubon Street area led by a historian (1 p.m.); and free food from Go Greenly, Moe’s, Wing’s Over New Haven, Anna Liffey’s, and Costa Pizza. The Neighborhood Music School will host an open house that afternoon (1-4 p.m.), and invite children to try out musical instruments and guests to take part in a tap dance class.
