Tonight: Yalies on ‘America’s Got Talent’

3Penny Chorus and Orchestra — a Yale-affiliated group that achieved Internet stardom for its classical arrangement of Carly Rae Jepson’s pop song “Call Me Maybe” — will be among the groups featured on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” tonight (Aug. 13).

The live performance, which begins at 9 p.m., will take place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City and feature a total of 12 hopefuls, all vying for a chance to advance to the finals.

Originally posted in 2012, the video (above) of the Yale group’s rendition of “Call Me Maybe” went viral, earning 3Penny Chorus and Orchestra an appearance on “The Tonight Show.”
