Yale Fleet Management to auction used vehicles Oct. 29-Nov. 1

test test

Yale Fleet Management will hold its first vehicle auction for its older, used vehicles Oct. 29-Nov. 1.

The auction is open to the Yale community as well as the general public. All vehicles will be sold “as is,” and bidders will be required to match the minimal asking price for the vehicles.

This will be a sealed-bid auction. Prospective buyers can view all vehicles first on Monday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. — rain or shine — in the parking lot of 344 Winchester Ave.

Fleet Management will begin accepting online bids from 11 a.m. on Oct. 29 until 5 p.m. on Nov. 1. Bids received before or after these times will not be considered. Winning bidders will be notified by Fleet Management by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2. Payment must be made within 24 hours after receiving notification; only cashier’s checks or bank checks will be accepted. All bids must be sent to yalefleet.yale.edu.

In the past, Yale used an auction service that provided minimal return on its vehicles. Yale Fleet Management has decided to take on this role internally to provide a more efficient vehicle disposal system while trying to generate additional return on its original investment.
