The newest class of Yale World Fellows have come to campus from Morocco, Nigeria, Algeria, China, Argentina, India, and other far-flung nations to learn from Yale experts and join in dialogue with members of the campus community.

Those conversations will begin on Thursday, Sept. 13, when the Yale community is invited to meet this year’s World Fellows at an open house being held at 5 p.m. in the Greenberg Conference Center, 391 Prospect St. All are welcome. A dedicated Prospect street shuttle will run in a loop from Phelps Gate to the Greenberg Center to Luce Hall (see below) throughout the evening.

This year 16 emerging global leaders are studying at Yale for the semester as World Fellows. They include an executive with China Construction Bank; a British military officer who served in command and staff appointments in Afghanistan; an Algerian private equity entrepreneur; a former Argentine minister of economy; and a women’s empowerment activist in India.

During the semester, World Fellows will discuss important global issues as part of the “Hot Coffee, Hot Issues” series, which will take place 9-10 a.m. at the Greenberg Conference Center. The first talk in the series will be held on Friday, Sept. 28; others are planned for Oct. 5 and 12, Nov. 2, and Dec. 7. All are free and open to the public.
