Generals to discuss ‘Lessons from the Armed Forces’
Three retired generals will offer insights from their military careers in a panel discussion at Yale titled “For the Record: Leadership Lessons from the Armed Forces,” to be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, as part of the Mory’s Speaker Series.
The panel will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Law School’s Levinson Auditorium, 127 Wall St. It is free and open to the University community; a Yale I.D. is required for admission.
The featured speakers will be:
• General (retired) Stanley McChrystal, former commander of the International Security Assistance Force and former commander of the U.S. and International Forces in Afghanistan.
• Lt. General (retired) Graeme Lamb, the colonel commandant of the British Special Air Service and former commander of the Field Army; and
• General (retired) John P. Abizaid, former commander of the U.S. Central Command.
All three generals are teaching at the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs at Yale this fall.
Following the talk, there will be a reception and dinner for Mory’s members and their guests. For reservations, call 203-562-3157.
The Mory’s Speaker Series is sponsored by the private club patronized by generations of Yalies since 1849. In recent years, the club brought “Doonesbury” creator Garry Trudeau and award-winning actor Paul Giamatti to campus for public talks.
