Worship services to highlight Yale Divinity School’s graduation events
As befits its mission, Yale Divinity School will host two worship services during graduation weekend — one of which is open to the public.
Commencement Worship will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, on the Sterling Divinity Quadrangle. The preacher will be Carolyn Sharp, associate professor of Hebrew Scriptures. The service is open to the public.
Commencement Communion will take place at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 21; this service is open only to graduates and guests. The preacher will be Jeremy Hultin, associate professor of New Testament who will leave the Divinity School at the end of the year to join the faculty at Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. Celebrants at communion will be Emilie Townes, associate dean of academic affairs, and Dale Peterson, associate dean of student affairs.
The Divinity School’s Commencement exercise will begin at 12:30 p.m. on the quadrangle, following the university-wide graduation ceremony.
