Yale’s 311th Commencement will be its most “social,” so friends and families can join in the festivities online even if they can’t be in New Haven

Watch the Class Day and Commencement ceremonies on Old Campus as they unfold on Yale Livestream. Class Day begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 20; the featured speaker this year will be Barbara Walters of ABC News. University graduation begins at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 21.

Follow Yale on Facebook and Twitter for access to the weekend’s activities, including a Baccalaureate Address by President Richard C. Levin, a reception for parents and graduates, and much more. Use the hashtag #Yale2012 on Twitter to share your photos and impressions.

If you’re planning to attend graduation in person, you can find links to Commencement 2012 on the Yale University iPhone app, now available on the iTunes. The app helps you stay connected to Yale on-the-go, anytime, from anywhere — from events on and around campus, to the Open Yale Courses, to the latest sports results.

During and after the weekend, you can also download images of Commencement 2012 taken by Yale photographers on Flickr.
