Rouwenhorst appointed Haas Professor of Corporate Finance

K. Geert Rouwenhorst, recently designated as the Robert B. and Candice J. Haas Professor of Corporate Finance, specializes in international finance and asset pricing.

K. Geert Rouwenhorst, recently designated as the Robert B. and Candice J. Haas Professor of Corporate Finance, specializes in international finance and asset pricing.

His research interests include business cycle theory, the empirical tradeoff between risk and return in developed and emerging stock markets, and portfolio choice. His recent work examines commodity investments and the history of financial innovation.

Rouwenhorst, who received his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Rochester, came to Yale in 1990 as an assistant professor of finance at the School of Management. He was appointed professor of finance in 1999 and is currently the deputy dean for M.B.A. curriculum.

The author of “Origins of Value: The Financial Innovations that Created Modern Capital Markets,” Rouwenhorst serves on the editorial boards of Emerging Markets Review, Journal of Asset Management, and the Journal of Empirical Finance, among others.
