Receive discounted theater-dinner packages through ‘Make a Night of It in New Haven’

Dining enthusiasts and theater revelers alike can receive exclusive deals and savings through the “Make a Night of It in New Haven” program, sponsored by Market New Haven, a public/private partnership among the city and its Board of Aldermen, Yale University, Yale-New Haven Hospital, and the local business community. 

Downtown New Haven restaurants and theaters have teamed up to offer residents and visitors three discounted packages.

“New Haven is known for its inspiring culture and cuisine, and our new packaged offerings are a great way for people to experience all that New Haven has to offer and at a great value,” says Mayor John DeStefano Jr.

Information about the dinner-theater packages follows:

Long Wharf Theatre: March 7-13

Receive tickets to “Bell, Book & Candle” at the Long Wharf Theatre, and enjoy a three-course prix fixe dinner at your choice of Thali (regional cuisine of India), L’Orcio (contemporary Italian cuisine), or Sage (American grill and oyster bar) at a set price of $70 per person. Prix fixe meals include an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert; the price does not include beverage, tax, or gratuity.

Shubert Theater: March 8-11

Enjoy a prix fixe dinner at your choice of Pacifico (nuevo Latino cuisine), Zinc (modern American food), or Oaxaca Kitchen (new Mexican cuisine) at a set price of $32 per person with ticket purchases to “South Pacific” at the Shubert Theater. (Note the $32 does not include the cost of the theater ticket.) Prix fixe meals include an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert; the price does not include beverage, tax, or gratuity.

To purchase tickets for “South Pacific,” call the Shubert Box Office at 203-562-5666 or visit www.shubert.com. Ticket prices range from $15 to $78. 

To redeem the prix fixe dinner at Pacifico, Zinc, or Oaxaca Kitchen, diners must show their “South Pacific” ticket stubs at the restaurant. This dining deal is only valid for the same night of the performance you attend, and dinner reservations must be made prior to the show, as dining is subject to availability.

Yale Repertory Theatre: March 19-21

Enjoy a prix fixe dinner at your choice of Union League Café (Parisian style brasserie) or Ibiza (authentic Spanish cuisine) for a set price of $32 per person with ticket purchases to performances of “The Winter’s Tale” at the Yale Repertory Theatre. (Note the $32 does not include the cost of the theater ticket.) Prix fixe meals include an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert; the price does not include beverage, tax, or gratuity).

To purchase tickets for “The Winter’s Tale,” call the Yale Repertory box office at 203-432-1234 or visit www.yalerep.org. Tickets cost $20 for those three evenings.

To enjoy the offered prix fixe dinner at Union League Café or Ibiza, diners must show their ticket stub for “The Winter’s Tale” at the restaurant. This dining deal is only valid for the same night of the performance, and dinner reservations must be made prior to the show as dining is subject to availability.

As an added bonus, diners will receive a parking coupon at dinner to exit the York and Chapel Street Garage for a cost of only $5.
