Enjoy fine dining at a savings during New Haven Restaurant Week Nov. 6-11

test test

Area diners will have the opportunity to sample a new culinary site — or return to an old favorite — during New Haven Restaurant Week, being held Sunday-Friday, Nov. 6-11.

Thirty-six restaurants in the city will offer a three-course, prix fixe menu consisting of an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Lunches will be $16.38 for lunch (a figure that reflects the year New Haven was founded) and $29 for dinner.

For the first time, New Haven Restaurant Week will partner with Citizens Bank to raise money for the Connecticut Food Bank. At each participating restaurant, diners will have an opportunity to donate $1 to the Connecticut Food Bank. “Just $1 feeds one person for an entire day,” write the event organizers, “and what tastes better than that?”

Participating restaurants include: 116 Crown (bar, kitchen, and cellar), Adriana’s Restaurant & Wine Bar (Northern Italian), Barcelona Restaurant & Wine Bar (Spanish wine bar), Basta Trattoria (Southern Italian), Bentara (spicy Malaysian), Box 63 (American bar and grill), Café Goodfellas (regional Italian), Carmen Anthony Steakhouse (American steakhouse), Caseus (fromagerie and bistro), Central Steakhouse (steak, seafood, and wine), Christopher Martins (modern American and Italian), Consiglio’s Restaurant (authentic Italian), Geronimo (Southwestern), Heirloom (coastal farm), Ibiza (creative Spanish), John Davenport’s (contemporary American), Kudeta (Asian fusion), L’Orcio (contemporary Italian), Leon’s Restaurant (Italian cuisine), Miya’s Sushi (creative sushi), Oaxaca Kitchen (contemporary Mexican), Pacifico (nuevo Latino), Press (artisan pizza), RED (American fusion), Sage American Grill & Oyster Bar (contemporary American), Scoozzi Trattoria and Wine Bar (modern Italian), Soul de Cuba Café (Cuban), Thali (regional Indian), The Cask Republic (American tavern), The Kitchen Table (sustainable American), Tre Scalini Ristorante (regional Italian), Union League Café (Parisian brasserie), Zaroaka Bar and Restaurant (fine Indian), Zafra Cuban Restaurant & Rum Bar (Cuban), and Zinc (modern American).

The restaurants’ prix fixe menus and tips for diners can be found on the New Haven Restaurant Week website.
