Parents and other relatives will have the chance to reunite with their Yale student while exploring the University and enjoying campus activities during Family Weekend, Friday-Sunday, Oct. 28-30.

In addition to campus tours and special performances, family members will be offered a glimpse into what Yale students experience in the classroom during faculty lectures on Saturday. These will include “The Surprise of Religion in Modern American Life” by Jon Butler, “Explaining Religious Conflict” by Vivek Sharma, and “Thinking with Pictures” by Sun-Joo Shin.

Immediately following the talks, Butler and Shin will be joined by Sybil Alexandrov for a faculty panel discussion on the theme “Why I teach,” moderated by Yale College Dean Mary Miller. Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions both at that panel and at the panel that follows on “Yale College Life,” moderated by Marichal Gentry, dean of student affairs.

The complete list of activities can be found on the Family Weekend website.
