Stories of inspiration behind the commitment to combat HIV/AIDS

This month marks the 30th anniversary of the first reported AIDS cases in the United States. To mark the occasion, Yale's Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA) asked nearly 50 individuals — including doctors, researchers, health workers and activists from Yale and beyond — the same question: What was the defining moment that got you involved in work on HIV/AIDS?
