Cancer Survivors Day celebration to be held May 25
On Wednesday, May 25, Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven will host a special program for cancer survivors at Yale’s West Campus, 141 Frontage Rd. in Orange.
The keynote speaker at this event will be Ethan Zohn, winner of “Survivor: Africa” and cancer survivor.
The event marks National Cancer Survivors Day and is open to cancer survivors and their families. The day will include a cookout and picnic supper hosted by Mel Goldstein, senior meteorologist at WTNH News Channel 8 and cancer survivor. The band “5-Metal Chemistry” has will perform during this portion of the event. The quintet features two trumpet players, a French horn, trombone and tuba.
Registration will begin at 5 p.m., and the event will run 5:30-7:30 p.m. Affiliate cancer organizations will be in attendance with information available throughout the program.
