Bass media equipment check-out service expanded

In the summer of 2009, ITS Academic Technologies, as part of the Collaborative Learning Center, began a pilot program that allowed students to borrow a small amount of digital media equipment through the Bass Library.

Since then this program has grown significantly and is now available to all Yale students and faculty.

The equipment inventory has expanded to include several Nikon DSLRs and lenses, various models of Panasonic and Canon digital video cameras and accessories, tripods, microphones, audio mixers and Mac adapters.

Members of the Yale community can easily reserve equipment online. For those needing help, assistance is available from a pool of 20 to 30 student employees trained in the use of equipment and various software applications, such as Apple’s iLife Suite and Adobe Photoshop.

A standard checkout is three days for most items and extended reservations can be made, with priority given to academic endeavors.

For additional information or to reserve equipment, visit the Collaborative Learning Center website at, or stop by the Bass Library, 110 Wall St.
