Welcome to the Yale Daily Bulletin

Today marks a significant step forward in Yale’s digital communications, with the launch of the Yale Daily Bulletin (YDB), a new online news and information site serving our community.

Like its print predecessor, the Yale Bulletin & Calendar, the mission of the Daily Bulletin is to shine a spotlight on the outstanding faculty, programs and events of Yale. It will highlight major initiatives, research breakthroughs, campus events, honors and awards and profiles of Yale community members. The new format enables wider use of feature videos, podcasts and slideshows.

As an adjunct to the news site, Yale This Week will be distributed every Monday morning as an e-newsletter featuring the top stories from the YDB and highlighting upcoming events. The full version of This Week debuts on Monday, Sept. 20.

The YDB launches as a beta site with the express intent of engaging you and the rest of the Yale community in its development. Design, content and features will be finalized through the fall with the goal of launching a full-function Daily Bulletin in the spring semester. During this time of transition, we will print a four-page Yale Calendar, which will include events listings with occasional features. It will appear every two weeks, except during holidays and University recesses. For a list of deadlines, click here.

The switch to an all-online publication has both economic and sustainability benefit. But, more importantly, it is in keeping with the changing ways in which readers gather and process news and information. It also opens exciting opportunities for the University in delivering news and engaging the community in rich dialogue. Our aim is to produce a news and information site of value to you.

We seek comments and suggestions from across the University — students, faculty, staff, alumni and parents — and look forward to working together in the development of YDB.
