Vice President and General Counsel Dorothy K. Robinson issued the following statement on the nomination of Susan Carney:

We are pleased and proud that President Obama has nominated Deputy General Counsel Susan L. Carney to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Susan is a lawyer of exceptional skills, dedication and judgment, who has served with great distinction since joining Yale’s Office of General Counsel in 1998. She has addressed an impressive range of complex legal matters for the University, building upon her very substantial previous legal career. President Richard C. Levin and I, and all of us who have worked with Susan at Yale, have noted her talent and character in addition to her fine legal mind. We are confident that the nation will be well served with Susan as a member of the U.S. judiciary.
