Private Capital Is Topic of Conference

"Expanding Horizons" is the theme of the ninth annual Yale School of Management (SOM) Private Equity Conference being held on Friday, Nov. 6, at the Hyatt hotel in Greenwich, Connecticut.

“Expanding Horizons” is the theme of the ninth annual Yale School of Management (SOM) Private Equity Conference being held on Friday, Nov. 6, at the Hyatt hotel in Greenwich, Connecticut.

This year’s program will focus on the trends and opportunities for private capital that have emerged from the market conditions of the past year. Specific topics will include: global deployment of private capital; perspectives from limited partners; opportunities in the renewable energy and infrastructure space; secondary market and distressed investing; venture capital; corporate governance; public perception; and the evolving role of government.

There will be three keynote speakers - all alumni of SOM: John Howard ‘80 M.B.A., chief executive officer (CEO) of Irving Place Capital (formerly Bear Stearns Merchant Banking); David Jackson ‘93 M.B.A., CEO of Istithmar World Capital; and Dan O’Connell ‘80 M.B.A., founder and CEO of Vestar Capital Partners. Other presenters will include Yale alumni from such organizations as Launch Capital, The Carlyle Group, Aetna, The Westly Group, AEA Investors, RockPort Capital, Merrill Lynch, Ernst & Young, Emerging Energy & Environment, Deutsche Börse Group and Patriarch Partners.
