Yale College Class Day Faculty Prizes 2009
The following prizes were awarded at Yale College Class Day on May 24.
The Sarai Ribicoff Award for the encouragement of teaching in Yale College was given to Beverly F. Gage, assistant professor of history.
The Richard H. Brodhead ’68 Prize for teaching excellence by a non-ladder faculty member was awarded to Fred Strebeigh, senior lecturer, Department of English.
The Sidonie Miskimin Clauss Prize for teaching excellence in the humanities was awarded to Lillian Guerra, assistant professor of history.
The Dylan Hixon ’88 Prize for teaching excellence in the sciences and mathematics was given to Michael Frame, professor (adjunct) of mathematics.
The Lex Hixon ’63 Prize for teaching excellence in the social sciences was given to Steven B. Smith, the Alfred Cowles Professor of Government and Professor of Philosophy.
The Harwood F. Byrnes / Richard B. Sewall Teaching Prize for promoting student learning across the curriculum was awarded to Mark S. Mooseker, the Ross Granville Harrison Professor of Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology.
